New release: Skin film soundtrack

We are thrilled to announce the release of the digital album, Skin (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)! This album features 9 score pieces composed by Bamdad Afshar for the 2020 film, Skin.

Directed and written by Bahman Ark and Bahram Ark, the film premiered at Iran's leading film festival, Fajr, and received extensive critical acclaim. Skin won two awards, including the best original music award.

The music of Skin blends Iranian myths with Shamanic and Turkmen music, complemented by the Kopuz and the voice of Ashiq Vali Abdi from Ahar in Iran's East Azerbaijan province. In creating this music, Bamdad Afshar drew inspiration from Mohammad Siyah-Qalam's paintings and their grotesque demonic figures.
