Hossein Alizadeh & Rembrandt Trio: A Fusion of Persian Classical and Jazz

Join us on Friday 14 November at Cadogan Hall for a truly special evening as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival 2025, featuring Hossein Alizadeh & Rembrandt Trio, joined by Saba Alizadeh and Ali Boustan.
Widely regarded as the most important living figure in Persian classical music, Hossein Alizadeh brings his masterful artistry on the tar and shurangiz, along with decades of groundbreaking work as a composer and educator.
The Rembrandt Trio is internationally known for its artistic curiosity and groundbreaking collaborations that push jazz forward. Their critically acclaimed album It's Still Autumn opened the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2019. Frequently performing outside the Netherlands, one recent highlight was a double bill with Chick Corea at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s in London. The trio also plays a pioneering role in working with Iranian musicians, including Kayhan Kalhor.
This unique performance also features Saba Alizadeh (kamancheh) and Ali Boustan (setar), both key members of Alizadeh’s Hamavayan Ensemble. Together, they create a powerful fusion of Persian classical and folk traditions with European jazz and contemporary improvisation — a deeply moving, genre-defying musical experience.
Don’t miss this rare collaboration — a highlight of the festival.
